C’garh gets flak for action against teachers

Raipur: The opposition Congress hit out at Chhattisgarh's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday for imposing the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) against 200,000 contract teachers after they refused to refused to withdraw the strike for better salary.

"(It) is humiliating to impose ESMA against teachers, the BJP government has gone on an offensive against teachers who are protesting peacefully across the state," the party said in a statement here.

387 Shikshakarmis of durg suspended

The Zila panchayat has suspended 387 Shikshakarmis of Durg Disstrict for remaining absent from their duty and allegedly participating in the indefinite strike of Chhattisgarh Shikshakarmis Federation.
The suspended Shikshakarmis Inslude 32 Panchayat Lecturers (Shikshakarmi-1), 71 Teachers (Shikshakarmi-2) and maximum 284 Assistant Teachers (Shikshakarmi-3). On the other hand most of the Shikshakarims have joined their respective schools on Tuesday and took their classes.

RSU V-C may face hardship as daily wagers to join strike

the Vice Chancellor of Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University(RSU) will have to face hard ship for the next few days as daily wagers will be joining the strike of non -teaching staff from Saturday. The officers on special Duty (OSDs) will also join the strike hampering the work in varsity. The workers decided to intesify their agitation after they were denied their demands by administration, depute assurance of accepting in executive council meeting of varsity, conducted on Friday.

Govt school teachers to organise a state-wide protest on Tuesday

Raipur: Thousands of teachers across Chhattisgarh will hold protest demonstrations in 146 block headquarters of the state on Tuesday. Sudhir Gautam, the president of the 'Chhattisgarh Shikshak Sangh', said that the teachers are demanding that they be given the second increment of one-step-up central payscale from April 1999, notification of promotion regulations in the Tribal Department and removal of the discrepancies in the time-bound payscales.

Chhattisgarh to file review petition against SC ruling on SPOs

Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh on Saturday said the state government will file a review petition in the Supreme Court against its direction to disarm special police officers and denied that minors were employed as SPOs. "We will file a review petition against the Supreme Court
order on Special Police Officers. We are consulting experts on the issue. I met (senior lawyer) Harish Salve and Arun Jaitley. We will 100% go for a review petition," Singh told reporters in New Delhi.

Postal department makes job search easy

Raipur: The postal department has introduced i Code Card to make job search easy for unemployed people in Chhattisgarh and the neighbouring states.

The new system which starts functioning from June 13 will help bridge the gap between companies and the job aspirants.

Chhattisgarh Circle Assistant Director (BD) MR Kavadkara told that with the help of i Code Card unemployed people can log on to www.icodecity.com and register themselves at the employment exchange. After the registration, the information of the unemployed will be available to employers.
