History Janjgir-Champa District of Chhattisgarh was launched on 1st November 2002 ( Chhattisgarh Foundation Day) by the Hon’ble Collector & District magistrate of Janjgir-Champa Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua at a special function.
Janjgir-Champa District was amongst the first few newely formed districts of Chhattisgarh to have taken initiative to launch their website.
The site has been designed and developed by the NIC-Janjgir-Champa District Centre and presents comprehensive information about the Profile, Statistics, History, Tourist Places, Communication, Administration, Census 2001 abstract, Various government departments etc.
The District Janjgir-Champa was established on 25 May 1998. The district Janjgir-Champa is situated in the center of Chhattisgarh and so it is considered as Heart of Chhattisgarh. The District Head Quarter Janjgir of the district Janjgir-Champa is the city of Maharaja Jajawalya Dev of Kulchury dynasty.
The Janjgir-Champa district is a major producer of Food Grains in the state Chhattisgarh. The Vishnu Mandir of Janjgir district reflects the golden past of this district.
The Vishnu Mandir is an ancient artistic sample of Vaishnav community. The Hasdeobango project has been considered as life supporting canal for the district Janjgir-Champa.
