Shikshakarmis to court arrest on Jan 4


Around 30,000 Shikshakarmis from across the State, including thousands of women, organised a massive 'dhikkar rally' amidst raising slogans against Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, School Education Minister Brijmohan Agrawal and other BJP Ministers and leaders at Sapre School ground on Monday afternoon. However, the Shikshakarmis were blocked between Bijli office chowk (Near Sapre School) and Dharna Sthal (Budhatalab) by the heavy police force by barricading the routes.

Striking Shikshakarmis have decided to write letters with their 'blood' and shot it to Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and school Education Minister Brijmohan Agrawal to make them to realise that how difficult it was for the Shikshakarmis to manage themselves with the present facilities they were being facilitated with. "51 of our Shikshakarmis would write 51 letters in their blood.

336 Shikshakarmis terminated


An order of termination against 311 striking shikshakarmis of Raipur district has been issued by the District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Shami Abidi. The CEO said that a total of 1239 shikshakarmis of the district officially joined duty and it has been reported to their respective block and district headquarters.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) extended its support to the striking shikshakarmis (Panchayat teachers) of Chhattisgarh, hoping for the political mileage from the event. Sanjay Singh, the executive member of the AAP, along with other party members actively participated in the shikshakarmis' strike at Sapre School Ground on Tuesday. The AAP members also addressed the huge gathering of the shikshakarmis and assured them standing by them till they get their rights.

Committee constituted to look into demands of striking shikshakarmis

Chhattisgarh Cabinet has constituted a high power committee to look into the demands of the striking shikshakarmis. The committee will be headed by school education minister Brijmohan Agrawal, Tribal welfare Minister Hemchand Yadav and Higher Education minister Ramvichar Netam. The strike has paralyzed the education in the State and if the same situation continues further it would adversely affect the children as the courses are yet to be completed. The Government taking a strong view decided to set up a higher power committee who would look into the demands of the shikshakarmis.

The Shikshakarmis are continuing their dharna on the third consecutive day, right on the main road near Sapre school grounds despite instructions from the administration of removing the logjam from the roads, It may be mentioned that District Administration along with police has come under heavy criticism for break down in the normal traffic.

Teachers on all level should get handsome salary, Agrawal

Chhattisgath School Education Minister Brijmohan Agrawal on Wednesday advocated for attractive salary and better training for luring finest talents into teaching profession. While speaking during the meeting of Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday, Agrawal said that the teachers on all level should get handsome salary. Agrawal also emphasized that training of teachers should not be restricted to school level rather it should be done at college and university level to bring excellency in teaching.
