Dr. Alok Shukla is State President of "Shiksha Manch"

State President of Sarva Brahmin Samaj (SBS), Lalit Mishra has designated educationist Dr. Alok Shukla on the post of state President of "Shiksha Manch" which is a unit of the samaj.
The objective of the Shiksha Manch is to bring the prominent educationists of the state together on a forum who will further make substantial attempt to promote education activities across the state, said Mishra. Dr. Shukla is at present working as deputy Director of the Higher Education Department.

Shikshakarmis detained for shouting slogans

Another faction of the shikshakarmis under the banner of C'garh Shikshakarmis Sanghtook to streets on Monday raising the demand of their merger with the Education and tribal departments of Chhattisgarh Government. Later, Police detained around 30 shishakarmis at Gole Bazar police station.

India: Striking teachers in Chhattisgarh arrested
Up to 2,000 striking contract teachers in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh were arrested this week after the government invoked the Essential Services Maintenance Act. Over 1,000 were arrested in Raipur, where teachers had travelled from across the state to protest. Police set up roadblocks around the city and began detaining teachers trying to get to the protest.

C’garh gets flak for action against teachers

Raipur: The opposition Congress hit out at Chhattisgarh's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday for imposing the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) against 200,000 contract teachers after they refused to refused to withdraw the strike for better salary.

"(It) is humiliating to impose ESMA against teachers, the BJP government has gone on an offensive against teachers who are protesting peacefully across the state," the party said in a statement here.

387 Shikshakarmis of durg suspended

The Zila panchayat has suspended 387 Shikshakarmis of Durg Disstrict for remaining absent from their duty and allegedly participating in the indefinite strike of Chhattisgarh Shikshakarmis Federation.
The suspended Shikshakarmis Inslude 32 Panchayat Lecturers (Shikshakarmi-1), 71 Teachers (Shikshakarmi-2) and maximum 284 Assistant Teachers (Shikshakarmi-3). On the other hand most of the Shikshakarims have joined their respective schools on Tuesday and took their classes.

RSU V-C may face hardship as daily wagers to join strike

the Vice Chancellor of Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University(RSU) will have to face hard ship for the next few days as daily wagers will be joining the strike of non -teaching staff from Saturday. The officers on special Duty (OSDs) will also join the strike hampering the work in varsity. The workers decided to intesify their agitation after they were denied their demands by administration, depute assurance of accepting in executive council meeting of varsity, conducted on Friday.
