Film Actor Amitabh Bachchan impressed to see water conservation system at Naya Raipur

Impressed to see the water conservation system and the rehabilitation scheme of Naya Raipur, Film Actor Amitabh Bachchan said that such efforts are extremely important for development of the city. Praising the township project, Mr Bachchan said that Naya Raipur would soon develop into a beautiful city. He also extended his best wishes for successful implementation of the project. Before leaving for Mumbai, Mr Amitabh Bachchan visited Naya Raipur to have a look on the development and construction works underway in there.

Land will be provided to investors in Naya Raipur, says CM

"Land will be provided to investors in Naya Raipur, who is interested to set up non-core sector industries based on Information Technology" said Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh on Wednesday. He was interacting with the CII representatives, who had a courtesy meeting with him at his official residence. Dr. Singh said that numerous industries related with cement, iron ore and aluminium are already established in the state.

Include four cities of Chhattisgarh under Smart City Project

Chhattisgarh has raised demand to include Naya Raipur, Raipur, Bhilai and Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon among the proposed 100 Smart City Project of the central government. In the national conference on Smart City project held in New Delhi, the Minister for Urban Administration Amar Agrawal, PWD Minister Rajesh Munat strongly raised the above point in the conference. Both the ministers also rendered valuable suggestions for better implementation of Smart City Project.

Super Specialty Hospital to come up in Bilaspur, Naya Raipur to have ‘School of Public Health’

With a view to bringing qualitative improvement in the health services of Chhattisgarh, the Center on Tuesday decided to establish two important institutions in the state. The decision was taken at a significant meeting here between Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. During the meeting, it was decided that one out of 12 super specialty hospitals announced in budget under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) will come up in Bilaspur.

Union Minister for Food Ramvilaas Paswan visited Naya Raipur yesterday in the late hours of evening on Wednesday. He also visited Mantralaya (Mahandadi Bhavan) and praised its architecture. Minister Paswan had a passing look on the construction works underway in Naya Raipur, as per the master plan of township designed by NRDA. Union Minister visited the under construction colonies in sector 27 and sector 29, which are being developed by Chhattisgarh Housing Board. He also praised road connectivity and streetlight arrangement of Naya Raipur.

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh on Saturday took a surprise inspection of under-construction central park, works related to augmentation of the Jhanjh reservoir at Naya Raipur. The Chief Minister said both these tasks would be major centers of attraction in the new capital for the people. He took details regarding the progress with the two works from the officials of Naya Raipur Development Authority and also directed for completing the tasks on a faster speed. Chief Executive Officer of NRDA Amit Kataria, Deputy Chairman S S Bajaj were also present on the occasion.

Smart City to come up between Old Raipur and Naya Raipur

The Union Government has given its in principle approval to the state government's proposal for converting the area between Capital Raipur and its expansion project Naya Raipur into Smart City. The approval came during meeting with Union Urban Development and Housing Minister M Venkaiah Naidu by PWD and Housing Minister Rajesh Munat on Thursday at New Delhi. During the meeting other necessary issues pertaining to Urban Administration and Development also came up for discussion.

Plans to Develop IIIT—Naya Raipur as India’s Leading IT University

The first meeting of the Board of International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) — Naya Raipur was held in Mantralaya at Naya Raipur. The IIIT has been established as a University, under a public-private partnership between the Government of Chhattisgarh and NTPC. The meeting was chaired by the newly appointed chairperson of IIIT, Ajai Chowdhry, the Founder of India’s leading IT company, HCL. The Board set a target of commencing B.Tech. programmes, with 60 seats each in Computer Science and Information Technology, from academic session 2015-16.
