Chhattisgarh has raised demand to include Naya Raipur, Raipur, Bhilai and Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon among the proposed 100 Smart City Project of the central government. In the national conference on Smart City project held in New Delhi, the Minister for Urban Administration Amar Agrawal, PWD Minister Rajesh Munat strongly raised the above point in the conference. Both the ministers also rendered valuable suggestions for better implementation of Smart City Project.
With a view to bringing qualitative improvement in the health services of Chhattisgarh, the Center on Tuesday decided to establish two important institutions in the state. The decision was taken at a significant meeting here between Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh and Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. During the meeting, it was decided that one out of 12 super specialty hospitals announced in budget under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) will come up in Bilaspur.
Union Minister for Food Ramvilaas Paswan visited Naya Raipur yesterday in the late hours of evening on Wednesday. He also visited Mantralaya (Mahandadi Bhavan) and praised its architecture. Minister Paswan had a passing look on the construction works underway in Naya Raipur, as per the master plan of township designed by NRDA. Union Minister visited the under construction colonies in sector 27 and sector 29, which are being developed by Chhattisgarh Housing Board. He also praised road connectivity and streetlight arrangement of Naya Raipur.
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh on Saturday took a surprise inspection of under-construction central park, works related to augmentation of the Jhanjh reservoir at Naya Raipur. The Chief Minister said both these tasks would be major centers of attraction in the new capital for the people. He took details regarding the progress with the two works from the officials of Naya Raipur Development Authority and also directed for completing the tasks on a faster speed. The Union Government has given its in principle approval to the state government's proposal for converting the area between Capital Raipur and its expansion project Naya Raipur into Smart City. The approval came during meeting with Union Urban Development and Housing Minister M Venkaiah Naidu by PWD and Housing Minister Rajesh Munat on Thursday at New Delhi. During the meeting other necessary issues pertaining to Urban Administration and Development also came up for discussion.
The first meeting of the Board of International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) — Naya Raipur was held in Mantralaya at Naya Raipur. The IIIT has been established as a University, under a public-private partnership between the Government of Chhattisgarh and NTPC. The meeting was chaired by the newly appointed chairperson of IIIT, Ajai Chowdhry, the Founder of India’s leading IT company, HCL. The Board set a target of commencing B.Tech. programmes, with 60 seats each in Computer Science and Information Technology, from academic session 2015-16.

Chairing a prolong and elaborate meeting of all the Head of the Departments (HoDs), Chief Secretary Sunil Kumar on Friday gave a deadline of two weeks to all the concerning officials to come up with a department-wise work plans to ensure the compliance of the Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh's manifesto covering varied pro-stimulus points and issues. The Chief Secretary chairing the meeting at the Naya Raipur-based Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan) was attended by all the Additional Chief Secretaries (ACS), Principal Secretaries and Secretaries.
Chief Secretary Sunil Kumar inspected under-construction GAD residential buildings at Sector-17, developed by Chhattisgarh Housing Board, on Tuesday and took part in the plantation programme. On the occasion, he planted Neem sapling. NRDA Chairman N Baijendra Kumar, NRDA Deputy Chairman SS Bajaj, Chhattisgarh Housing Board Commission Sonmoni Borah, NRDA CEO Amit Kataria, NRDA General Manager Mahadev Kanvre, and other officials also planted saplings at Sector-17. Total 500 sapling were planted during the plantation programme.
